Inaugural Trip – NPTB B737/800 to Liege and Oslo

On Sunday 2 September 2018 West Atlantic’s second B737/800 NPTB went into service for FedEx.

NPTB looked very good on the ramp at EMA awaiting for its departure to Liege at 22:00.

The crew and attendees for the first leg were:
Captain – Jason Harte
Senior Frist Officer – Vincent Toner
Ground Operations Manager – Rob Edson
Stephanie Fry – HR Director UK
David Jenkins – Flying Spanner (Joined in Liege)

The flight to Liege went smoothly with no issues and the crew were very informative to the visitors on board.

NPTB arrived safely at Liege and Rob swiftly left to catch NPTA our first 800 which was due to commence our new route for FedEx to HEL/TKU.  We are now operating four routes for FedEx with the B737 fleet using two classics until the remaining two NG’s arrive.

All others on board went to see the new crew room and office in the terminal.

The crew room was finished and looking good with comfy recliner chairs, dining area and kitchen facilities.  Just a few finishing touches needed – more tea and coffee and some biscuits.  Directions to the facilities and some pictures, all of which are being sorted.  The Office was also looking efficient and ready for duty.  With work stations, printer, telephone in fact everything you need to operate professionally and effectively.  Well done to all involved in getting these facilities ready.

NPTB was ready for its first fully loaded trip to OSLO.  The crew had completed all the checks and paperwork, David had gone around TB and carried out all his checks, TB was fully fuelled and ready to go. Departure time, off blocks was 02:45, the crew safely achieved this at 02:50 (Phew well on time, great performance).

The flight to Oslo was seamless and smooth, fog had been forecast for landing but fortunately this did not appear.  NPTB touched down at 04:35 and its cargo was safely unloaded.

The crew and attendees left for the hotel and some well earned breakfast.
