Responsible to:          The Pilot Manager

Role Summary

Responsible for the management of the operation of the ATR aircraft as per company requirements to meet customer requests.

Responsible for ensuring all duties are carried out as per company procedures and standards.

West Atlantic UK also operates ad-hoc charters for a varied customer base from transporting car parts and musical equipment into and out of Europe to moving dangerous goods.

Further opportunities for progression to Ground Instructor, Line Training Instructor and TRI/TRE.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all duties ensuring the safety of the aircraft, its cargo and its occupants and following all specified instructions and procedures in the operations manuals.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant United Kingdom, European and International air legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures;
  • Maintain familiarity with such provisions of the Company Operations Manual as are necessary to fulfil the function.
  • Report any fault, failure, malfunction or defect which may affect the airworthiness or safe operation of the aircraft including emergency systems.
  • Report any incident that endangered, or could have endangered, the safety of the operation.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant requirements of the company MSM.
  • Maintain individual records regarding flight and duty times and rest periods as referred to in applicable FTL requirements; and provide each operator with the data needed to schedule activities in accordance with the applicable FTL requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all elements of the Duties and Responsibilities in West Atlantic Part A.

Essential Requirements

  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • UK CAA Pilot’s Licence
  • ATR Type Rated (preferably 200/500)
  • Current UK Class 1 Medical
  • Minimum 2000 hours with 500 hours on type as Pilot -in-Command (PIC)
  • ICAO Level 5 English

  • a) related to the safety of the aircraft, its cargo and its occupants; and
  • b) specified in the instructions and procedures in the operations manual

Academic/Qualification Requirements

  • UK CAA Licence
  • ATR Type Rated
  • Current UK Medical

Required Skills/Experience/knowledge:

  • Minimum 500Hours Total time to include 250 Hours Multi crew time
  • Possess professional, friendly and customer-focused personality.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure.
  • Developing Leadership.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal).
  • Proven problem solving & planning skills.
  • ICAO Level 6 English.

*Rank of SFO is not a function of the manual suite. For the avoidance of doubt, it is attained by the earlier of:-

  • 2 years’ service post final line check (on any fleet).
  • 500 hours multi crew time.
  • An ATPL.

There is no loyalty bonus attributed to this position.
